The craftsmanship of a legendary recording house, with the range today's creators, brands, and productions actually need.
Production and VO 101 workshops — for working creators and the next generation, taught where the records get made.
A stone’s throw from Five Points in Raleigh’s historic Brooklyn District, SoundTrax pairs a vintage-modern aesthetic — warm woods, analog gear, tape reels, practical light — with the rare calm of a room built purely to sound good.
Our 500-square-foot live room floats on a 3-inch concrete slab, its 2-inch walls and ceilings mounted on Mason Industries isolation systems for uncompromising soundproofing. Combine that with a no-compromise approach to acoustic treatment and you have one of the best-sounding rooms in the Southeast — and a remarkable isolation chamber.
An extensive microphone collection — the best of Neumann, Sennheiser, AKG and more — feeds a Pro Tools Ultimate rig and a hand-picked chain of preamps, EQs, and compressors. Our primary edit suite is built to the same acoustic standard as the live room, for editing and mixing, including 5.1 mix-to-picture.
↳ Vintage synths available on request: Juno-60, Prophet-5 Rev3, Moog Grandmother, ASM Hydrasynth, Korg MS-20, Moog Taurus & Sequential Drumtraks.
Because gear doesn't make records — people do. Through every era of recording, this studio has run on the same thing: a small, dedicated crew who care deeply about how it sounds. Meet the people behind the work.
